Job Summary

This position will provide logistic coordination and communication with those who have interests or facilities connections with the Madonna Della Strada Retreat Center (MDSRC). The MDSRC Coordinator will support pastoral programming for the school as it relates to retreats, spiritual formation and the potential use of the MDSRC. This individual will help ensure that the facility is properly booked, maintained and cared for and that clear policies and procedures are applied by SLUH users and those who rent the MDSRC facility. All policies and procedures that are developed through input by the Pastoral Team, Director of Facilities, Principal's Office, President's Office and MDSRC Coordinator should support the school's Mission and intent of the Board of Trustees and Leadership Team.


The MDSRC Coordinator reports to the President and will maintain regular communication with the Principal, Chair of the Pastoral Department, VP of Administration and Director of Facilities. The MDSRC Coordinator is a resource for the Pastoral Department and the Principal for planning and execution of the pastoral programming and logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain MDSRC's calendar for facility usage and reservations under pre-approved guidelines
  • Acts as the primary liaison for Campus Ministry when using the MDSRC
  • Purchase and maintain basic supplies with the collaboration of SLUH's business office (cleaning products, paper products, garbage bags, etc.)
  • Manage food service for events or retreats
  • Coordinating regular cleaning/janitorial service and user expectations for departure
  • Work with administration regarding any problems or concerns with groups on site
  • Coordinate transportation logistics
  • Inform the Facilities Director of issues related to cleaning services, maintenance and transportation of supplies and equipment.
  • Insure that use policies and instructions are communicated to all users and updated when changes are initiated by SLUH Administration
  • Lead efforts to promote the MDSRC for SLUH events and external group rentals
  • Serve as liaison between outside groups and SLUH for the use of the facility
  • Develop rental use policies, protocols and signage in collaboration with the President and Principal's Office.
  • Occasional visits to the retreat center for tours, orientations and quality checks.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Related experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, with occasional walking, bending, stooping, standing, squatting and reaching
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time
