St. Louis University High (SLUH) is a 206-year-old institution of exceptional education. Rooted in a Jesuit tradition school that has a legacy of setting the standard for excellence in secondary education and Catholic formation. SLUH seeks an experienced gift officer to join a vibrant team that recently completed a $70M campaign. With the addition of the Director of Leadership Giving position, SLUH seeks to build a best in class program with the creativity and character that is becoming of the SLUH mission and reputation for excellence.

The Director of Leadership Giving will report to the Senior Director of Leadership Giving and join a highly motivated, nine person Advancement department. This team secured over $3.5M for Annual Fund support and $8M in major gifts and planned giving in support of the current year's $25M operating budget.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute thoughtful strategies for stewardship, engagement and solicitation of a portfolio of prospects and donors capable of making leadership gifts
  • Oversee an established planned giving program, including the management of programs, records, and donor resources.
  • Build and lead a three-year plan for improvement and growth in planned giving with measurable goals and outcomes.
  • Coordinate and oversee programming for donor stewardship, including managing donor societies.
  • Directly engage with donors, senior school leadership, and key stakeholders to advance the school's strategic priorities.
  • Contribute to developing strategies for the Advancement department and the improvement of the department's tactical toolkit on the cusp of a new strategic plan for the school.

Experience, Skills and Values

  • A commitment to represent and advance the mission of St. Louis U. High.
  • Proven track record of successful solicitations of major and planned gifts.
  • High level of software proficiency, especially fundraising CRM's (Raiser's Edge, preferred), and systems that promote team collaboration, e.g. Google Suite, Microsoft Office, project management tools.
  • Strong relationship-builder with ability and eagerness to solicit and steward benefactors
  • Bachelor's Degree.

This position requires some travel and availability on occasional nights and weekends.
