Director of Campus Ministry
The Director of Campus Ministry reports directly to the Principal and assists the Principal in the development and execution of student spiritual formation. The Director of Campus Ministry is responsible for the planning and coordination of the school's pastoral activities. He/she is the chair of the Campus Ministry Department and schedules regular department meetings with the Community Service and Senior Project Coordinators. This is a full-time, 10-month position. Work hours may vary and will include some evenings and weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and supervises the planning of the school's liturgies and prayer services.
- Supervises the class moderators and retreat directors in planning and executing the school's retreat programs.
- Grows and evaluates the service programs for each grade.
- Builds opportunities for reflection and prayer for the community
- Works with the freshman class moderator in planning, coordinating Freshman Direction Days.
- Assures the coordination of the Senior Project, including the recruitment of students, faculty and agencies to participate in the Project, the creation of the Project Handbook, the approval of all placement sites, and the organization of the Missioning Ceremony, reflection meetings, and welcome-back prayer service.
- Assures the coordination of the Community Service Program, including the establishment and organization of sites and record keeping for students who participate in community service programs.
- Leads efforts to align the pastoral programs with theology and student activities.
- Creates leadership opportunities for students to help build pastoral programs.
- Classroom teaching expected in the candidate's field of expertise
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Successful pastoral leadership experiences at the high school level
- Strong understanding of liturgy, community service, and retreat programs
- Experience working with adolescents
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Administrative/supervisory experience
- 2+ year teaching experience
- Practicing Catholic or Christian, willing to share one's faith journey
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Jesuit education
- Master's Degree in theology or pastoral leadership
- Strong administrative technology skills
