Athletic Performance Intern

Saint Louis University High School is seeking a qualified candidate for a Athletic Performance Internship for the Spring 2025 semester. This hands-on opportunity offers comprehensive experience in the weight room alongside full-time coaches, providing exposure to program design, theory, nutrition, and leadership. The Intern will apply their knowledge in a practical setting, working with high-level high school athletes and contributing to a positive athletic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Form and educate young men to be open to growth, intellectually competent, loving, religious, and committed to justice and physical fitness.
  • Motivate and cultivate student-athletes while supporting the Jesuit Mission.
  • Assist with all facets of the Department of Athletic Performance.
  • Design training programs and testing protocols for assigned sports.
  • Develop physical fitness programs for non-athlete students.
  • Collaborate on the program design and implementation of the Summer Athletic Performance Camp.
  • Engage in regular professional development.
  • Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of a safe and healthy performance facility.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate degree in an exercise science-related field.
  • Working toward Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) or equivalent.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Operates in a fast-paced environment with various challenges, deadlines, and interactions with diverse individuals.
  • Frequently required to lift more than 45 pounds during daily activities.
  • May spend extended periods working at a desk or computer.
