Alumni Relations Coordinator

Alumni of St. Louis University High School are formed to be "men for others," carrying the mission of SLUH into the world as proponents of competence, compassion, and conscience. 

The Alumni Relations Coordinator (ARC) is passionate about the mission of SLUH, leading the Advancement Department's initiatives that establish and maintain relationships with alumni to their alma mater. The ARC pursues goals of relationship building as well as fundraising with alumni, and cooperates in achieving the overarching goals of the Advancement Department as a critical means for realizing the Catholic, Jesuit mission of the school. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

Programming and Events

  • Lead committees and volunteers in the planning and staffing of reunions. 
  • Coordinate the Alumni Board officers, direct the Alumni Board toward mission-driven goals, and staff the Alumni Board project teams. 
  • Collaborate with the Athletic Department and club moderators to organize anniversary events for alumni of athletic programs and other longstanding co-curriculars. 
  • Create innovative out of town engagement opportunities for alumni, including alumni chapters.
  • Promote Ignatian spirituality among alumni communities and invite alumni to share and support the Catholic, Jesuit mission of the school.
  • Collaborate with faculty and current students, and embrace opportunities to participate in the dynamic life of the school.
  • Oversee logistics for the alumni golf tournament and support other alumni focused gatherings.

Communication

  • Partners with the Communications Department to create digital opportunities to connect recent college graduates as well as alumni who are well-established in their careers. 
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for alumni who reach out to the school, and maintain communication channels that keep alumni informed, inspired and engaged. 
  • Deepen the school's knowledge and appreciation of the life stories and accomplishments of alumni.

Fundraising

  • Support annual giving programs involving alumni, especially the St. Louis U. High Day phonathon. 
  • Cooperate with alumni volunteers and SLUH Advancement colleagues to achieve department's fundraising goals.
  • Respond generously and graciously to alumni, donors, and other constituents. 

Qualifications

  • Desire and ability to represent and actively promote the Catholic, Jesuit mission of St. Louis U. High. 
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Two plus years of professional experience in a environment, preferably a fundraising office in an educational institution. Training and experience in fundraising, marketing, business development, project management, recruiting, or related fields are preferred. 
  • Ability to travel (occasionally) and staff scheduled evening and weekend events.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Digital proficiency, especially with LinkedIn and other social media channels, Google Suite, and basic website updating. Experience with a CRM system is a great benefit. 
  • Ability to work with and engage a broad range of people and personalities, especially volunteers. 
  • Ability to provide physical support for events and gatherings. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs.
